VOLUNTEER
Eastern Market Main Street is looking for volunteers! As a DC Main Streets program, EMMS is committed to ensuring the continued vitality of the commercial corridor around Eastern Market and we need your help to make our work a success.

There are four ways to get involved:
-
The Promotions Committee works to market Eastern Market Main Street and its businesses to current and potential audiences. By promoting the corridor’s unique characteristics to shoppers, investors, new businesses, and visitors, the Committee helps shape a positive image of and increase traffic to the area. The Committee meets monthly and takes an active role in planning and staffing events.
-
The Design Committee works to keep the commercial corridor in top physical shape. Capitalizing on assets and creating an inviting atmosphere through window displays, parking areas, signs, sidewalks, street lights, and landscaping, the Committee strives to convey visual messages about what Eastern Market Main Street is and what it has to offer. The Committee meets every other month.
-
The Economic Vitality Committee works to recruit new businesses and help existing ones expand and stay relevant. Through studies and business censuses, the Committee discovers what is important and relevant to business and building owners, and works to curate discussions and projects that speak to these issues. The Committee meets monthly.

Not yet ready to sign up for a committee? General Volunteers can help the organization and staff with a wide variety of tasks - we'll need general help with events and special projects, support for mailings, and other administrative duties. We do regular volunteer calls through our neighborhood newsletter, The Beat, so sign up to hear about upcoming opportunities. Have something specific you'd like to help us with? Email us at info@easternmarketmainstreet.org!
